Gas permeation membrane simulation

1 feed -> retentate + permeate (solution-diffusion)

Governing equations

The exact equations the solver works for a gas permeation membrane — the same math shown in the app's "Theory" panel, not a black box.

Ji=QiA(xiPfeedyiPperm)    (solution-diffusion, permeance Qi)J_i = Q_i\,A\,\bigl(x_i P_{feed}-y_i P_{perm}\bigr)\;\;(\text{solution-diffusion, permeance }Q_i)
xi,yi    (retentate/permeate composition — solved as a fixed point, eachx_i,\,y_i\;\;(\text{retentate/permeate composition — solved as a fixed point, each}
depends on the fluxes, which depend on both)\text{depends on the fluxes, which depend on both})

Parameters

area [m² membrane], permeance {component: mol/(m²·s·Pa) — the ratio between two components' permeance sets the membrane's selectivity for that pair}, permeate_pressure [Pa, must be below the feed pressure]. Gas-phase solution-diffusion (a well-mixed single stage, not a spatially-resolved cross-flow module) — the counterpart to pervaporation for a vapor feed, e.g. H2 recovery/purification, natural-gas CO2/N2 removal.
