A priced answer for your plant in weeks, not a consulting retainer
Fixed-scope studies run on the MaximaLabs Industrial AI platform: the solver and deterministic tools compute every number, an engineer reviews every result, and the workspace stays with you when the study ends.
Fixed price agreed up front · free scoping call · advisory only, nothing written to the plant
Four studies, each with a fixed deliverable
Each one is built on modules the platform already runs, so you are buying a result, not hours. Prices are indicative and confirmed after the scoping call.
Steam & utility optimization study
“Where is the site paying too much for steam and power, and what is it worth?”
- Site steam balance optimized across boilers, turbine-versus-letdown routing and buy-versus-generate power
- Marginal cost of steam on every header — the price a process steam saving is actually worth
- Ranked savings opportunities in $/year, each with its constraint margins and the simulation behind it
- Written report and a readout with your engineering and operations leads
- You provide
- 3–12 months of historian data, utility prices and tariffs, the site heat and material balance
- Duration
- 4–6 weeks
- Indicative price
- $40k–$90k
- Runs on
- Site steam MILP on IAPWS steam, process models in the simulator, scenario economics
Energy baseline & savings verification
“Did the project save what it promised — and by how much, with what certainty?”
- ISO 50006 / IPMVP baseline of energy against its real drivers (production, weather, feed)
- Model fit judged against ASHRAE Guideline 14 (CV(RMSE), NMBE) — or a plain statement that it does not pass
- Savings against the adjusted baseline, with CUSUM, EnPI and the Guideline 14 uncertainty
- A value ledger setting predicted savings beside what the plant has realized
- You provide
- 12+ months of metered energy and production data; the dates of the changes being verified
- Duration
- 3–4 weeks
- Indicative price
- $25k–$50k
- Runs on
- Energy baselines, value ledger, performance monitoring
Data reconciliation & instrument health audit
“Which of our meters, analysers and control loops can we trust?”
- Plant meters checked against mass and component balances, with gross errors located — or reported as a set when they cannot be told apart
- Unusual operating points separated from broken relationships between measurements
- Control-loop screen: manual, saturated, oscillating and suspected-stiction loops, worst first
- A prioritized instrument and loop work list, ready for your maintenance system
- You provide
- 1–6 months of historian data, the P&IDs or a tag list, lab results where they exist
- Duration
- 3–5 weeks
- Indicative price
- $30k–$60k
- Runs on
- Data reconciliation, anomaly scan (T² / SPE), loop performance, tag contextualization
Aspen / HYSYS model migration & onboarding
“Can our existing simulation cases run in MaximaLabs, and do the answers agree?”
- Your .bkp, .apw or .hsc cases imported and converged in MaximaLabs
- A side-by-side comparison against the original results, with every difference explained
- A half-day working session for your engineers on the migrated models
- You provide
- The case files and their reported results
- Duration
- 2–3 weeks
- Indicative price
- $8k–$20k
- Runs on
- Legacy import, the steady-state solver, validation against your reference case
How a study runs
Same five steps every time, so you know what you are buying before you buy it.
1. Scoping call
An hour with a MaximaLabs engineer, free. We agree the question, the units in scope, the data that exists and the fixed price — or tell you a study is not the right tool.
2. Data under NDA
Historian exports, meters, prices and documents go into a private workspace. Nothing is connected to the control system, and nothing is ever written to the plant.
3. The platform does the work
The study runs in Industrial AI: the solver and deterministic tools compute every number, and an engineer reviews each result before it reaches you.
4. Readout and report
Findings in $/year with their evidence, constraint margins and what could not be explained. Every figure traces to a tool run you can open and re-run yourself.
5. Keep the workspace
The workspace built for the study becomes the site's monitoring workspace on the Industrial AI plan — the savings are tracked against the plant, not left in a PDF.
The terms we work under
Advisory, and your engineers decide
Recommendations are for your management-of-change process. We do not operate, actuate or approve anything, and we do not sign safety cases.
Your data stays yours
Work runs in a private workspace under NDA. A private-network or on-premise deployment is available where the data cannot leave the site.
Fixed scope, fixed price
The price agreed on the scoping call is the price. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before it starts, never billed afterwards.
Savings-linked pricing on request
For the steam and energy studies, part of the fee can be tied to savings verified against an IPMVP baseline. Ask on the scoping call.
Frequently asked questions
What is a MaximaLabs engineering study?
A fixed-scope, fixed-price engagement that answers one engineering question for one site — where steam is being wasted, whether a project delivered its savings, which instruments can be trusted. It runs on the MaximaLabs Industrial AI platform, and a MaximaLabs engineer reviews every result before it reaches you.
Is this consulting or software?
Both, deliberately. You buy an outcome — a report with priced findings — and the work is done in the software, so every number is reproducible and the workspace stays with you afterwards. Most sites continue on the Industrial AI plan to track the savings.
Who calculates the results?
The solver and the deterministic tools — the steam optimizer, the energy baseline, the reconciliation. The AI chooses what to run and drafts the explanation; an engineer reviews it. No figure in a report comes from a language model.
Do you connect to our control system?
No. A study works from historian exports, meter data and documents. Nothing is written to the plant, and any change goes through your own management-of-change process.
How are the prices set?
The bands on this page are indicative. The fixed price is agreed on the free scoping call, from the number of units in scope and the state of the data.
