Sustainability & LCA, built into the model

Auto-generate a cradle-to-gate carbon and water footprint from the flowsheet you already solved — and draft the CBAM and CSRD disclosures from it.

Auto-built Life-Cycle Inventory

The mass and energy flows an LCA needs are the byproduct of every converged solve — no weeks of manual inventory entry disconnected from the model.

Product Carbon Footprint (ISO 14067)

A cradle-to-gate PCF per kg of product: upstream feedstock + on-site Scope 1 + grid Scope 2, allocated across co-products by mass, energy, or economic value.

Water footprint (ISO 14046)

A second impact category from the same model: consumptive blue water, with cooling-tower makeup and process water read straight from the solved flowsheet.

Six impact categories from one model

Beyond carbon and water: acidification (SO₂-eq), eutrophication (PO₄-eq), photochemical ozone (POCP), and cumulative energy demand — CML-IA characterization, vented species read straight from the solved speciation.

Regulatory export drafts

Draft an EU CBAM embedded-emissions declaration and a CSRD / ESRS E1 climate disclosure from the footprint — the auditor-facing artifact, downloadable as structured JSON.

Net-zero pathway (MACC)

Rank your own abatement levers on a marginal-abatement-cost curve ($/t CO₂e avoided), with a net-zero residual + offset and a total cost of ownership including carbon.

Live footprint via the digital twin

Overlay the plant's live sensor readings onto the model and the footprint tracks the running plant — design-basis vs live carbon and water, the loop no standalone LCA tool closes.

Why this is different

Incumbent LCA tools (SimaPro, GaBi/Sphera) require weeks of manual inventory entry in an application disconnected from any live process model. Because MaximaLabs's simulator, cost estimator, and digital twin all share one unified data model, the inventory is already there the moment a solve converges — and with the twin, the footprint tracks the running plant.

Honest by design

  • Upstream factors are a curated, cited subset (EPA eGRID / IEA / DEFRA grids, IPCC AR6 GWP, published feedstock factors) — not a licensed ecoinvent/GaBi database. Override them with your own dataset for a regulated filing.
  • Allocation is a methodology choice, not a fact — mass / energy / economic is reported explicitly on every result, never hidden.
  • The CBAM and CSRD documents are structured drafts derived from the model, not certified or third-party-verified filings — CN codes and installation identifiers are yours to supply, never fabricated.
  • Combustion-CO₂ stoichiometry and the AR6 GWP characterization are pinned exactly in tests; the per-kg footprint is a screening figure, not tuned to hit a published number.

From flowsheet to footprint in one place

Open the Sustainability panel on any solved simulation, pick your functional unit and grid region, and read the per-kg carbon, water, and acidification footprint — then download the CBAM or CSRD draft.
