Terms of Service
The agreement between you and MaximaLabs for use of our process-simulation platform.
Last updated: July 26, 2026
1.Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MaximaLabs process-simulation platform at maximalabs.io (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
2.The Service
MaximaLabs is a browser-based tool for building, solving, and analyzing chemical process flowsheets, including an AI copilot that helps you construct and diagnose simulations. We may add, change, or remove features over time. Some features are limited by your plan.
3.Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You may sign in with an email and password or with Google. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
- Notify us promptly at contact@maximalabs.io if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
4.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service unlawfully, or to infringe others’ intellectual-property or privacy rights.
- Attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the Service’s security, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Overload or abuse the infrastructure (for example, automated bulk workloads designed to evade plan quotas or degrade service for others).
- Reverse-engineer, resell, or sublicense the Service except as expressly permitted (a documented API and SDK are provided for programmatic use within your plan).
5.Your content and ownership
You retain all rights to the flowsheets, data, and other content you create on the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — for example, running your solves, rendering your results, and enabling collaborators you invite. You are responsible for having the rights to any data you upload.
6.Engineering results — important disclaimer
The Service produces engineering estimates from numerical models and thermodynamic correlations. The AI copilot proposes and explains; the deterministic solver computes the numbers. Results are provided for informational and engineering-support purposes only and are not a substitute for professional engineering judgment. You are responsible for independently verifying any result before relying on it for design, procurement, safety, operational, or regulatory decisions. Do not treat simulation output — including AI-generated suggestions, sizing, and safety flags — as certified engineering advice.
7.Plans, billing, and usage
- A free plan is available with usage quotas. Paid plans unlock higher limits and additional features.
- Paid plans may include usage-based charges metered by solves, optimizations, sensitivity runs, and AI calls. Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms.
- Charges are billed to the payment method on file. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. You can manage or cancel your plan from the billing portal; cancellation stops future charges.
- We may change pricing prospectively with notice; changes do not apply retroactively to a period already paid.
8.Our intellectual property
The Service — its software, models, interfaces, branding, and documentation — is owned by MaximaLabs and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership in it to you.
9.Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result will be accurate or fit for your purpose. See section 6.
10.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MaximaLabs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or US $100.
11.Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk or legal exposure. On termination you can export Your Content beforehand as described in our Privacy Policy; we may then delete it in the ordinary course.
12.Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13.Contact
