Delayed coker simulation

1 vacuum-residue inlet -> gas, naphtha, light gas oil, heavy gas oil, coke; screening yields (public correlation, not a licensor model)

Governing equations

The exact equations the solver works for a delayed coker — the same math shown in the app's "Theory" panel, not a black box.

Ycoke=1.6 CCR,Ygas=7.8+0.144 CCR,Ynap=11.29+0.343 CCRY_{coke} = 1.6\,CCR,\quad Y_{gas} = 7.8 + 0.144\,CCR,\quad Y_{nap} = 11.29 + 0.343\,CCR

ΔYcoke=24 ΔP+12 ΔR−0.12 ΔT\Delta Y_{coke} = 24\,\Delta P + 12\,\Delta R - 0.12\,\Delta T
m˙k=m˙feed Yk/100,∑km˙k=m˙feed\dot m_k = \dot m_{feed}\,Y_k/100,\qquad \sum_k \dot m_k = \dot m_{feed}
Q=∑kFkhk(Tdrum)−Ffeedhfeed+Δhcoking m˙feedQ = \sum_k F_k h_k(T_{drum}) - F_{feed} h_{feed} + \Delta h_{coking}\,\dot m_{feed}

Parameters

SCREENING (public correlation, not a licensor model): Gary & Handwerk's CCR yield correlation (coke 1.6*CCR, gas 7.8+0.144*CCR, naphtha 11.29+0.343*CCR wt%, gas oil the rest), measured coke MAE 4.4 wt% against published points and biased high on coke. ccr [wt%] (required, stated range 10-29); sulfur [wt%] (30% to coke, 30% to gas as H2S, 20% to HCGO, the rest to naphtha + LCGO by mass); api [deg] (reports naphtha/gas-oil vol%); drum_temperature [K] (default 700, products leave at it); drum_pressure [Pa] (default 2e5); recycle_ratio [-]; operating_basis {drum_pressure, recycle_ratio, drum_temperature} - the published sensitivities (coke +24 wt%/MPa, +12 wt% per unit recycle, -0.12 wt%/K) apply only relative to it; product_components {fuel_gas, lpg, naphtha, light_gas_oil, heavy_gas_oil} (defaults methane, propane and the petroleum-cut presets); coke_component (default petroleum_coke, a carbon-basis solid priced as graphite); h2s_component (default h2s); heat_of_coking [J/kg] (added to the duty, which otherwise excludes the heat of cracking); molar_masses {component: kg/mol} (auto-filled by the backend).
