What leaves the plant, and what it costs to stop it
Venturi scrubbing where removal is paid for in fan power, VOC oxidation of a stream too dilute to heat itself, liquid-phase wastewater oxidation held below its boiling point, and capture of the CO₂ that comes out of limestone rather than fuel.
Process modules
A high-energy venturi wet scrubber where collection efficiency and fan power are the same number seen twice.
Open process page →VOC-laden waste gas burned at the real destruction temperature, with the preheat a dilute stream cannot supply itself solved explicitly.
Open process page →Dissolved organics oxidized in the liquid phase under pressure — no latent-heat penalty on the bulk water.
Open process page →A rotary kiln with real decomposition kinetics, and the process CO₂ no fuel switch can remove compressed to a liquid.
Open process page →Each of these makes an abatement cost explicit rather than assumed: scrubber removal against pressure drop, VOC destruction against the preheat a dilute stream cannot supply itself, wet air oxidation against the pressure that stops the water boiling, and cement capture against a compression train. That trade is the reason to model them at all — an assumed removal efficiency hides exactly the number a project is decided on.
