LNP formulation simulation

aqueous RNA + lipid in ethanol -> formulated suspension

Governing equations

The exact equations the solver works for a lnp formulation — the same math shown in the app's "Theory" panel, not a black box.

N/P=m˙lipida/Mlipidm˙RNA/MntN/P = \frac{\dot m_{lipid}\,a/M_{lipid}}{\dot m_{RNA}/M_{nt}}
tmix=δ2D  <  τ=VmixerQt_{mix} = \frac{\delta^2}{D}\;<\;\tau = \frac{V_{mixer}}{Q}
N/PN/P
ionisable amines per RNA phosphate
aa
amines per lipid molecule
MlipidM_{lipid}
lipid molar mass [kg/mol]
MntM_{nt}
molar mass per nucleotide [kg/mol]
tmixt_{mix}
diffusive mixing time [s]
δ\delta
striation width [m]
DD
diffusivity [m^2/s]
τ\tau
mixer residence time [s]
VmixerV_{mixer}
mixer volume [m^3]
QQ
total volumetric flow [m^3/s]

Parameters

rna + lipid [component ids], rna_molar_mass + lipid_molar_mass [kg/mol — N/P is a molar ratio]. Optional: amines_per_lipid, organic_ethanol_fraction, striation_width [m] + mixer_volume [m^3] (turns on the mixing-vs-residence check), diffusivity [m^2/s]. Particle size is deliberately not predicted.
